Chapter Four was recorded in Halifax at the CBC’s iconic Studio H by Pat Martin on September 19 and 20. Instrumentation on BC4 is Hammond B3 (Tony Genge), Drums (Terry O’Mahoney), Guitar (Jake Hanlon), Baritone (Aaron Lington) and Trumpet/Flugel (Paul Tynan).  In the words of Co-leader Aaron Lington “we made a modern soul jazz record, very different from anything else [Paul] Tynan and I have produced in the past. It lies close to my heart – a guy from southeast Texas recording an album full of shuffles and featuring a Hammond B3? Sounds about right.”.  We hope to get this out as soon as possible on the Origin/OA2 label.  It’s swinging, and groovy with loads of attitude.  The collective also had the chance to perform most the music in concert for a great audience in Antigonish, NS. That concert was video recorded and currently being edited.
