About

Formed in 2007 the Bicoastal Collective is a contemporary jazz partnership that explores the variety of facets that comprise the modern post-bop jazz sound. Forged by Canadian trumpeter/flugelhorn player Paul Tynan (www.paultynanjazz.com) and Grammy award winning American baritone saxophonist Aaron Lington (www.aaronlington.com), the Bicoastal Collective explores new sounds in jazz and improvised music by focusing on original compositions and melody-driven improvisations.

The Bicoastal Collective’s numerous albums are published by OA2 records (www.originarts.com) and each has been met with critical acclaim. Sidemen featured on the Collective’s recordings feature such luminaries as Stockton Helbing (Maynard Ferguson, Doc Severinsen) Tom Luer (Grammy-nominee, Bill Holman, Gordon Goodwin), Corey Christiansen (Grammy-nominee, Origin Records Recording Artist), Wayne Wallace (multiple Grammy-nominee), Steffan Karlsson (Eddie Gomez Trio), Bobby Selvaggio (Kenny Werner), and many others.

The Bicoastal Collective strives to create engaging and passionate music through its composition and improvisation.
